Superman TAS Collected in New DVD Box Set

If you would prefer to stuff yourself full of cartoons than turkey this week, then you’d better be in the mood for adventure.

Superman: The Complete Animated Series (Warner Bros., $53.82) comes to DVD in a seven-disc box set that collects all 54 episodes of the 1996-2000 series. The set includes extensive bonus features, most notably an extra disc that includes the all-new documentary The Despot Darkseid: A Villain Worthy of Superman.

Frozen Release Date is Locked

The producing team of Frozen, Adam Green's new thriller, has confirmed to Shock Till You Drop that Anchor Bay Films is preparing a February 5, 2010 release date.

Kevin Zegers, Shawn Ashmore and Emma Bell star as three skiers who are trapped on a ski lift. What unfolds is what Green describes as a "terror" film in which the trio try to find a way down.

HOCKEY ROUNDUP: Jackson's big game paces Port Huron past Anchor Bay, 5-2

Tyler Jackson had two goals and an assist Saturday to lead Port Huron High to a 5-2 win against Anchor Bay at Glacier Pointe.

Ryan Rotondi added a goal and two assists, while Thomas Mertz and Frank Harrison each had a goal and an assist.

"We started out real good, then Anchor Bay got us off our game," Port Huron Coach Ben Pionk said. "It took us quite a while to get back to it.

"We played well, but we can play better."

Zack Davis and Conner Smith each had an assist for the Big Reds (2-0), while Jon Kemp had 11 saves.

Alex Fonstad had a goal and an assist for the Tars (0-1-1), while Richard Baker had a goal and Andy McEvoy had an assist. Alan Gaglio had 30 saves.

Port Huron plays Tuesday at Grosse Pointe Liggett, while Anchor Bay plays Dec. 2 at Troy.
ST. CLAIR 1 KENOWA HILLS 0

ALPENA -- The St. Clair High School hockey team defeated Grand Rapids Kenowa Hills Saturday at the Huron Shores Challenge.

Jacob Cronenworth had the lone St. Clair goal and Evan Weidenbach and Craig Gilewski each had an assists.

Chipper Gauss had 17 saves for the Saints (2-0). St. Clair will be back in action Friday at 3 p.m. at McMorran Pavilion.

"We were shorthanded, we only had 13 skaters," St. Clair Coach Scott Nichols said. "The kids played awesome. It's a great start.

"We have a big game Friday against Marysville.

The kids will be ready to go. They are excited."

Chelsea Minnie had three goals and an assist to lead the Lady Icehawks to the win at McMorran Pavilion.

Hayley Cox added two goals and two assists.

Morgan Thompson and Madelyn Harris each had a goal, while Taylor Cook stopped 10 shots.

Caylee Gordon and Sarah Hall each added two assists,

Cassie Reeves, Jalissa Suege and Courtney Harris each had one.

The Lady Icehawks (2-0) play Dec. 2 at Farmington.

Algonac men rescued from Anchor Bay by off-duty officer

An off-duty Detroit police officer, enjoying the day out fishing on Lake St. Clair, was startled Tuesday at the sight of two men struggling to stay above water while their fishing boat drove in circles with only their dog on board.
